About The Role

We are looking for someone to direct and lead our Youth Ministry in a new phase. Working alongside the Vicar you will be responsible for strategy, planning and delivery of youth work based at St. Michael’s and also have oversight of children’s ministry.

If you are passionate about your faith, sharing your love for God with young people and seeing them grow in their own discipleship journey then we are on the same page. You will be responsible for directing all church based youth work and building its growth in existing and new initiatives.

Full or Part Time (pro rata) applications are welcome. This role has a genuine occupational requirement to be a Christian and to hold an enhanced DBS certificate. You must have an existing right to work in the UK.

  • You will engage imaginatively and constructively with young people building their confidence and trust and supporting their faith journey.
  • You will plan and lead youth group activities (regular and one-off events) including engaging with other youth leaders and groups in the area.
  • You will plan to continue to grow the existing youth group and seek to engage missionaly with youth in the area.
  • You will lead and work with a team of local volunteers.
  • You will fulfil planning and administrative requirements in relation to the post.
  • You will be a person of Christian maturity committed to your own spiritual growth.
  • You will enjoy spending time with young people.
  • You will be passionate about sharing your faith in imaginative and engaging ways using your unique gifts and interests to support your ministry.
  • You will be able to motivate and lead a team of church volunteers.
  • You will be self aware, conscious of your main strengths and weaknesses.
  • You will be committed to following best safeguarding practices.
