About The Role

Highly organised and enjoy the challenge of a full inbox and conflicting priorities? Digital marketing skills? A strong and persuasive communicator, able to keep the 5-strong staff team, Vicar and volunteers on-track so they don’t miss anything?

You’ll be the central point of contact at the heart of the church, making everything work safely and smoothly for Sunday services and mid-week activities managing DBS checking administration and online marketing and communications software to get the right message out. You’ll also act as PA to the Vicar and provide events and project support.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll need administration experience in a busy environment with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint skills. Ideally you will have a marketing and comms background (desirable).

Communications & Marketing

• Be the central point of communication for the church.
• Carry out all administrative tasks as directed by the Operations Manager.
• Update the Church website.
• Manage digital marketing and branding.
• Manage social media channels including Instagram, Tik Tok and Facebook as required.
• Manage e-communication such as mail-chimp/other packages with an engaging weekly email to the church congregation.
• Manage external and volunteer video editing and design services and video uploads in a timely manner.
• Prepare engaging slides / notices video for Sunday services.
• Manage and maintain ChurchSuite, the tool for rotas, emails and team events.

Administration & Organisational

• Keep records of expenses by department.
• Assist with commercial contracts.
• First point of contact for IT issues, liaising with the IT company.
• Administer Banns of Marriage, Baptisms and all other Church of England and Diocesan returns
• Assist with Diocese audits and produce reports.
• Manage church databases and filing systems.
• Implement and maintain procedures/administrative systems.
• Manage the administration of risk assessments, corporate governance compliance requirements for GDPR, and Health & Safety to ensure ensure that the organisation is being run properly and complying with legislation and regulations.
• Administer CCLI and other licencing.
• Keep records of risk assessments.
• Liaising with staff, and suppliers.
• Responsible for the presentation of the notice boards, welcome table and communications material at the back of church.
• Coordinate Prayer Teams administration.
• Assist with Events and Projects.
• Assist the Site Manager with buildings and facilities administration.
• Responsible for the functional running of the office e.g. Provision of stationary, liaison with printer support, maintaining a tidy office.
• Assist the Church Wardens with Administration.

DBS administration

• Work with the Safeguarding Officer to keep records up-to-date of all volunteers including Basic and Enhanced disclosures and training records on the C of E website and locally to ensure everyone is up-to-date and checked, flagging risk to the Operations Manager and Safeguarding Officer.
• Reach out proactively to volunteers to obtain information.

PA to Vicar

• Ensuring any Sunday or course teaching materials available.
• Respond to emails on behalf of the Vicar maintaining confidentiality.

Walk-in, phone and reception

• Responsible for the front of house which will include responding to and distributing incoming calls, taking deliveries, and meeting visitors when in the church.

Other

• To carry out any reasonable task as required by your line manager in support of the operational and administrative requirements of ChristChurch.

Other:
You will be expected to consider ChristChurch Fulham as your home church, and to fully accept and lead others in line with the Christian values, beliefs and vision of the church as defined by the Vicar. You may be required to work on a Sunday.
