The Bishop of London has announced the appointment of the Revd Annette Fritze-Shanks to the post of Bishop’s Adviser for Self-Supporting Ministry.

This is a new (part-time, self-supporting) role in which Annette will be advising the Bishop of London as well as the London College of Bishops and senior staff on current and future patterns of ministry (with a particular reference to our 2030 Vision), and will also be seeking to work with SSMs across the diocese in terms of giving voice, support and development. Annette is an experienced priest based at Emmanuel Church, West Hampstead. She is an Associate Director of a City Law firm, working as Global Head of Regulation and Conduct.

The Bishop of London, the Rt Revd and Rt Hon Dame Sarah Mullally DBE, said:

‘I am very much looking forward to working with Annette in this new role. I know that she is keen to be in touch with SSMs and to hear something of the joys, needs and concerns of the many and various expressions of Self-Supporting Ministry across the diocese.’
